FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Do I need a wetsuit?
Answer: No. Wetsuits are discouraged as they are designed for water immersion and do not vent the core heat that you generate, and heat exhaustion would be a serious concern (this is exercise after all!). You will spend the majority (if not all) of your time out of the water. For what to wear, see question 3.
2. What do I do with my phone and keys and other valuables?
We are a mobile operation without lockers. You are responsible for you own belongings. We recommend leaving them home or in your car. Keys may be left onshore, but we are not responsible for any of your personal belongings. A good hiding spot is up to you to find! Please do not bring or wear anything of high value (or electronic) which could be lost or damaged in the water. This goes for sunglasses as well – wear at your own risk of loss! Hats are okay, but remember, they could be lost as well.
3. What should I wear and/or bring?
In addition to your PayPal receipt or coupon and completed Notice of Risk (downloaded from our website booking page), you should bring clothing designed for water activity. Swimsuits or exercise clothing that is wicking is recommended. Water shoes or sandals with straps are encouraged but not necessary. They come in handy though, as we have to wade on beaches that may have gravel or other sharp objects.
4. When should I show up for my reserved time?
Please arrive early and give yourself ample time to find parking and arrive at our tent or building. As we operate out of the City of Kirkland Parks, parking can be a challenge on a sunny day. If you are late for a reservation, you can jump in, but your time will end when the designated session is over. We have reservations immediately following your session.
5. Can I make a reservation for more than one person?
Yes. But each person requires a separate reservation. Please enter the individual coupon number for the Discount Code for each reservation. A coupon code can only be used once. Only one set of equipment will be available for each individual reservation, so please adhere to this when making reservations.
6. What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
As all of us living in the Pacific Northwest are a hardy bunch, we operate on our designated days rain or shine. We consider sunny weather a bonus! Cancellations/rescheduling require at least 24 hour notice or you forfeit your payment or coupon code. We have a finite number of available slots, and a last minute cancellation does not allow time for someone else to fill the needed spot!
If we have inclement weather (eg. thunderstorm) we will not operate, and we will do our best to notify you, and you will also be allowed to reschedule.
7. The calendar shows green, so why can’t I select that date?
Our reservation system is not perfect and the calendar shows our typical weekly availability. However, due to a handful of scheduling conflicts (including some City of Kirkland Festivals), you must choose from the drop-down menu of available days and time. If a slot is not available, we are not operating at that time. Thanks for understanding
